13 bikes and 1 car (Paul and Bobbie) meet next to the Chevon on Goldfield. Paul sold some tickets for the March 1st picnic but decided not to follow the group today. After some discussion and due a large group of 23 people, we decided to try the remodeled and rebranded restaurant at the Petro Truck Stop by Eloy/Casa Grande. We took a route South to avoid the traffic of the Renaissance Festival on 60. We traveled down Ironwood to Germann to Schnelpf to Skyline to Quail Run to Judd to Attaway to AZ Farms to Felix to Hunt back to Attaway to Coolidge Ave to 87, past the recently bankrupt Nicola plant to Battaglia to Frontier to Sunland Gin ending up at the Petro Truck Stop, Black Bear Restaurant.
The restaurant manager greeted us after about 15 minutes wait to get seated, she told us we were the largest group they have received since the remodel last year. The food was good, service was good (in my opinion) with only a couple of order mix-up's. There was a lot of visiting and laughs, the other table was loud, but they claimed out table was???
The group split up with 2 heading back on I-10, 7 going back on the same route as we came. The remaining 6 cut off in Eloy and headed to Eleven Mile Corner Rd, headed North to Coolidge Ave back into Coolidge then South on 87 to the Galloping Goose for a beverage and visiting. After a bit, headed North on 87 to Gilbert, back into the city and home to various locations.
Thank you,
Gary A Knudsen
