Six bikes and riders gathered at the station this morning for the planned trip to Maricopa.  Jay took the lead, and Dennis took the tail position.  Dennis Fitzgerald, a new rider from another AJ park joined us, and Carrol Johnson re-joined the group after being out for some repair on his bike.

The plan to eat at Ak Chin Casino was waylaid by a short staff and an inept hostess. After waiting 3/4 hour, it turned out she was accepting couples and not merging tables. We marked Ak Chin off our list and headed back to the Headquarters Restaurant near the tracks and below the new viaduct in Maricopa. We've been there before.  Some may recall that the Headquarters is a pine paneled place for the locals that has always been filled with customers. No more-it's now off the beaten path with plenty of room and lots of good service. We enjoyed the booth in the corner like old times.

After a good meal and plenty of iced tea or coffee, we took the direct road from Maricopa to Casa Grande where we made a left and out of town towards the north. We passed Coolidge on Number 85 and made a rest/fuel stop at Florence.

We were home after 1 PM with 140 miles traveled on a beautiful 85° day in the valley.  No plan was set for next Wednesday; I'd vote for Payson airport.
