Another bright and sunny November day greeted the Angels as we gathered at the station for the trip to the Copper Hen at Globe.  As we rode East from Superior, the slowly rising sun touched the tops of the hoodoos, reminding us that it is nearly winter season in Arizona as well as everywhere else.

There were nine bikes with 14 riders today, and our leader was Dan Knorr with Paul B. on the tail. Traffic on the highway near Miami was delayed by yet another guardrail project, but I noticed that the bridge project near the Bluebird mine has been finished except for the approaches.

The Copper Hen is located well into the Globe business district, and is a new enterprise to me. There were plenty of customers, and we enjoyed really good food, although we were there almost 2 hours. Two couples went directly back on the 60, while the rest turned east then south to Winkelman on Highway 77. There is a great deal of fire damage along that route. It does not diminish the huge geological features even more noticeable with reduced foliage as we glide for miles down the 7% grade nearly all the way to Winkelman. There were a couple of huge transport rigs that kept our speed down as we climbed the grade and settled in for the long downhill ride.

After the stop for R&R, that trip Home was uneventful, and we returned to GV about 1:15 with 150 miles.

We wish all of you a very happy Thanksgiving. Although there is no Thanksgiving dinner in the Ballroom, everyone seems to have plans for the holiday tomorrow.  The ride on Saturday will be to Pine, northeast of Payson. We can expect some cooler weather, although it will be pleasant by comparison to most parts of the country.
